I am a big fan of themes! If you have been reading my blog and newsletters for a while now, you will notice that I like to use acronyms, abbreviations, and cute ways to remember things. This is due to my need and dare I say ability to take detailed information from various sources and condense it into an easy way to remember, so that I can use it when I need it. Today we are travelling the 7Cs of effective communication. - Ric Phillips

Not all people are really gifted on effective communication. It’s such a huge dilemma especially in workplaces. Most of them are misunderstood. I see that everyday in our office. Some have really good ideas to impart but since they’re not concise and clear, they’re often taken for granted.
I do agree with the CONFIDENCE part. Some people really got something good to say… a lot, actually. But they are not that confident in imparting their ideas. That’s why people would just ignore them or take them for granted.
I think a calm communicator communicates well. If you talk like you’re rushing things or if you sound angry, you might seem intimidating or unbelievable to your audience. I, for one, is now trying to tone my voice down to make me sound calm and not scare people away.

I agree with control and calm. Ease yourself when you communicate. Some people just shout or sound like they’re talking to some dumb people to make them look superior and intimidating. That is really wrong. In that sense, they’re not communicating at all.
This is a really good reading material for those who wants some tips on effective communication. I think EffComm is a basic thing but is often taken for granted. People think it is pretty easy to communicate but communicating EFFECTIVELY is more complex.
I agree to all the points here. These are really good tips on communicating effectively. Only a few know about these or take note of these stuff. Most people take effective communication for granted.
Being CONCISE is really key. A lot of people just blab and blab wasting most of your time. They talk about stuff that isn’t even connected to the topic. Be straight-to-the-point. People don’t have that much attention span to what you’re talking about if you just talk crap.
Being conversational is really a challenge for anyone who wants to communicate effectively. Not all people might be interested in what you’re talking about. You need to look for a common ground to converse about.
Thank you for this post you have here! A lot of people need this. Nowadays, people barely know how to communicate already. It’s like they don’t take this stuff seriously when they should. We communicate everyday – thus, we need to keep this in mind EVERYDAY.
I think effective communication should be learned and relearned by people from time to time. This should be part of every curriculum of every degree. And when people get to their jobs, they should relearn this as well. Because a lot of people in the workplace just doesn’t communicate that well.
There are a lot of points that I agree with here. Oh well, I agree to all the points. I just want to say that being confident and competent are the key points for me.

There are a lot of people who doesn’t know how to communicate effectively. I think they need to read this material to refresh themselves. Communication is a basic thing but is just often forgotten.
I agree with being concise. Time is gold (as we all know). So as much as possible, when you’re given the time to speak up, then speak up. But also make sure that what you’re going to say makes a lot of sense and not just a total waste of time.
There are really a lot of people who are not clear with their points when they talk to someone. Sometimes they go in circles. Often, I just really cut the person out (in a nice way) and ask again what he’s trying to imply. Rather than listening to an entire talk of nonsense.
There are some really good points here. I appreciate that Evan share this to people because this would surely come in handy. I love how Evan pointed things out simply but clearly. Now that’s effective communication!
I agree with taking full control of how you communicate. Some people just go ballistic all of a sudden. They left you wondering what was wrong with them and you’ll forget what the whole point of your conversation was.
I think a concise speaker is the best speaker. I think getting the message across in a short span of time and getting it across effectively is a good way of communication. People barely have an attention span that would take long so timing is sometimes the key.

Someone who is confident to communicate could communicate well. After all, confidence is one thing that amazes people and make them notice you and pay attention to you. If you’re confident, people would listen.
Wow. I have never known about these if I haven’t read this. I mean… we had effective communication discussed in class but I never thought it would be simplified or summarized to just 7 C’s. This is amazing and is really worth sharing.

This is a simple but effective infographic. I think you can consider that as an effective way of communication.
I think confidence is one factor that sometimes people don’t possess when delivering effective communication. Sometimes when you’re confident of what you’re saying and you have the capabilities then it’s easier for others to be interested with what you’re trying to express to them.
I also like to use abbreviations that will help me remember things more! That’s a very insightful infographic. Really pointed out what’s needed for an effective communication.
