How I got my first customer
I am going to write about how I got my first customer in the online marketing world as I have had other customers through other ventures in the past.
I have always had an interest in marketing even to the point of taking a class in high school. I heard a radio advertisement about an ex-Marine becoming successful online and I went to the website. I entered my information and ended up getting a phone call from a business coach. I listened intently and asked questions and before I got off of the phone with him I just knew that I could do this! I joined forced with Jay Kubassek and PRO U and begin in my marketing training and starting my own online marketing business. Through daily training calls to the community of PRO U and individual help from my mentors, I begin getting leads. Learning to talk to leads was my biggest problem as I have always been more on the shy side. I got some great training and great help on this subject and began one day and one call at a time, opening up in this area. I got involved in banner advertising and found a few good sites that I could place my banners on. I begin producing leads this way. I would call these people and rate them on their interest level and one lead really stood out to me. He was from Israel and seemed very enthusiastic about bettering his life for his family and for his current situations. I realized that immediately he had a “why.” That is what is needed to take a task like this on. There has to be a reason more than just “money’ or “material possessions.” On our first phone call we spoke for almost one hour and I listened more than talked and answered many questions. We agreed that in 3 days after this conversation I would call again and speak more about this. By the end of the next call this gentlemen was ready to go and said that he would join in a couple days. In a couple days after this he did join and I immediately spoke with him about his next steps and how to get started in this industry and scheduled a call with a marketing partner inside the PRO U community. We spoke weekly and attended team trainings together about strategies and tips on attracting leads to web pages as well as communication practices and copy. This gentleman started getting his own leads and it was at that point that I realized that I could really do this. I could really help people create opportunities for themselves and encourage them to follow through while being able to provide help at the same time.
From this point forward to put my head down harder than ever in trying to learn and move my business forward. I have helped other since this time in getting their “new” businesses off of the ground and love what I do. I owe my success to the leaders of PRO U because without them it may have been years before I realized and woke up the entrepreneur inside of me. All people have the 99% that it takes to be an entrepreneur but it is that 1% inside everyone that needs to be woke up.
