How Entrepreneurs Can Look Good on a Budget

If you're an entrepreneur you probably feel pressure to look your best. You can't represent a company in flip flops and matted hair, unless you're running a surf shop. If you've got client meetings, presentations to make and investors to woo--then you truly want to look your best. Yet, when you're first starting out, personal spending money may be difficult to dole out. So, you've got to look your best on a budget. That's a fact for most of us. Think all is lost? Think again. You can do it, and here's how.

Shop sales

There is nothing quite like the feeling of buying something you enjoy at a discount. Some people say you should never pay full price for anything. If you want something more refined, then search the clearance departments of high-end stores. Living on a budget does not mean you have to wear tattered clothing. No one can tell how much you spent on something, as long as it looks good.

Stick to basic colors

There is nothing wrong with wearing specific colors that suit you well. It costs more when you have a colorful wardrobe due to dyes and customized prints. You can look classy and elegant in basic colors such as black, navy, tan and white. Plus, all of those color go well together. You can save the more colorful options for your IPO.

Ask a friend to cut your hair

You may be surprised at how easy it is to cut your own hair and have it end up looking great. Simple styles are also the easiest to manage. You also want to style your hair with the right products from Hanz de Fuko. When your hair is in place, you'll naturally look like a million bucks.

Get enough rest

You can use as much eye cream as you want, but you won't look as refreshed as you would if you got enough shut eye. It goes without saying that getting enough sleep is essential for your health and well-being. Plus, you just can't focus on three or four hours of sleep. When you're rested, you feel and look better.

Shop at thrift stores

While this can be hit or miss, but when you find something really good--it can be a huge score. Thrift store shopping is different from vintage stopping as vintage clothing can be expensive. Still, you can certainly find a fantastic vintage piece at a thrift shop. Browse around, you might even find an elegant tuxedo. Thrift store shopping is awesome.

Only buy items that fit with your current wardrobe

Don't buy clothing or shoes that won't pair well with your existing wardrobe. Looking good on a budget means your clothing needs to have the ability to mix and match with other items in your closet. This is about doing double duty and making the most of your spending.

As an entrepreneur, you are the face of your company. Nonetheless, looking good on a budget can be achieved with the right mindset and shopping habits. The good news is you don’t have to look or even feel like you’re on a budget.
