If you’re running a business, large or small, in today’s modern world, you’ve got to be in the social media game. The world has changed a ton in the past couple of decades and the digital world is where your marketing efforts should be focused on. And social media platforms play a huge part in connecting people and brands in this new digitized world of ours.

But many of you are probably struggling to figure out how to use Instagram to grow your business and increase your customer base. As it is one of the top social media brands for your business. Well, the good news for you is that the following article will give you the tips on how you can boost your Instagram game to gain followers and hopefully, customers!

1. Don’t Forget to Connect It with Your Other Social Media Accounts

The first step you need to take in using Instagram as a booster to your business is to connect it with all of your other social media accounts. When you use Instagram for either personal use or for your business, you have the option of connecting your account with your Facebook page, Twitter account, and a ton of other social Medias.

Now, you may be wondering how this would help you in boosting your brand identity. Well, let’s say that you have a large following on Twitter that doesn’t know that you are starting up on Instagram and creating content there. Well, when you post something on Instagram, you can also have that automatically posted to your other social media accounts, so your customers will know you’re active on Instagram.

And of course, they don’t want to be left out on any discounts or contests, so they’ll head over to Instagram to follow you

2. Deliver Content That You and Your Audience Will Care About

The question is what are you actually going to post on your page in order to drive more traffic to your site and increase awareness about your business? The number one rule of posting content on Instagram (or any social media platform, really) as a business or brand is to only create content that your audience is going to care about. Moreover, you should only be working with content that you actually care about and have a passion for.

For one, your customers are only going to be interested in content that they actually want to look at. So, don’t try to post about cats if your audience is only interested in dogs. And going along with that, if your business tries to post about something that’s outside of its niche or industry, your readers won’t be passionate about it. And it won’t really feed into your bottom line, either. To be able to bring your followers to your store you have to stick with the content which is of their interest!

3. Fund Some Sponsored Posts

Now that you have your other social media accounts connected and content out there that relates to what you’re trying to offer, you can start sponsoring some of your posts. This is actually super easy to do and is going to have your posts reach a ton more people than they would otherwise!

You can either do this through Instagram or through Facebook. You will be able to specify who you want your sponsored post to reach (age, location, interests, etc.), how much money you want to pay into it, and for how long the campaign will last. And you don’t have to spend a ton of money on one of these ads to reach thousands of more people! Oftentimes, $5 or $10 can send your post to the feeds of thousands of potential customers.

Plus, that level of customization is absolutely incredible so that your post gets on the screens of those people who would actually be interested in your product or service, rather than on random people feeds.

4. Host Contests in Collaboration with Other Brands and Influencers

Now we get to one of the most fun parts of having an Instagram and trying to promote your business through it. There are absolutely limitless possibilities for you to collaborate with digital influencers and other brands on the platform in the form of competitions and contests.

Let’s give you an example so you get our drift. You could work with an influencer who has thousands of followers who could be interested in your product. Now, you speak with that influencer and agree to giveaway one of your products in the competition. The influencer starts the contest on their Instagram page, letting their followers know that in order to win the product, they have to follow your page and tag 3 friends in the comments to do the same. After some time, the contest will end and you could end up with having hundreds of new followers!

These types of collaboration are absolutely fantastic in terms of getting your name out there and increasing your business. Plus, it’s pretty cheap to do! All you have to do is give away one of your products or services.

5. Use Plenty of Hashtags to Reach New Audiences

Of course, you’re going to have to use hashtags in order to reach new people and get the word out about your Instagram page. It’s a good idea to go on Google to research some of the top hashtags that are trending that relate to your business. For example, if you run a travel agency, you might use hashtags in your caption like #travel or #travelgram.

But be careful! Using too many hashtags can be a big turn-off to those looking at your post. Try to spread them throughout your caption. You can add up to 30 hashtags per post, but be sure to only include those that are going to bring the customers you’re looking for to your page.

We hope that you’ve learned a lot in the course of this article! There’s so much to think about when it comes to using Instagram to grow your business and drive more profit to help you succeed. Be sure to use the above tips and you should start to see progress in no time!

A traveller by day and reader by night' is how I would sum up my life. My wanderlust led me to quit my cushy job at 28 and finally embark on a journey around the world. Since then, I have lived in many countries and soaked in as many books as possible during my travel journeys. Among them, the "Book of Mirdad" is still my personal favourite and holds a special place in my heart. My progression towards writing was inevitable and happened quite naturally. I have been writing for a few years now an...
