How you awaken each day and the thoughts that you have will determine your future sales results. Do you awaken with a “Great Day” thought even when it is pouring down rain or other poor weather conditions?
Are your actively engaging your thoughts each morning or are you into automatic pilot by turning on the TV, logging onto the computer and just letting thing happen?
When was the last time you began the morning by reading a bedside book to those daily devotionals be them inspirational or spiritual?
Have you taken the time to exercise your body while exercising your thoughts? Do you take a daily walk, without the IPOD or Walkman so that you can truly think?
As you travel to your work or your first meeting, are your thoughts turned to the current song on the radio or thinking about how you can make that time with your appointment even better?
Do you have books or learning material on CDs helping you focus your thoughts toward forward progress that being achieving the goals to increase sales, build customer loyalty and to develop new relationships?
These and many more questions come to mind after reading this quotation by Anwar el-Sadat:
He who cannot change the very fabric of his thought will never be able to change reality, and will never, therefore, make any progress.
Research by the National Science Foundation (NSF) discovered that average people have 12,000 daily thoughts. Those who are engaged in thinking a lot have up to 50,000 thoughts.
My sense is that successful sales people are those in the second category. To achieve the sales results that you desire, you need to think about current trends, future trends, competitors, growth and innovation, overall marketplace, local to global events not to mention dealing with all of your personal thoughts specific to health, wealth, family, friends, career and ethics or beliefs.
So again what fabric of your thoughts will you need to change to increase sales and realize the sales results that you want and deserve?
