Could you imagine any professional athlete wanting to win the game but only willing to play 50% of the individual's full capacity? What about a Mother caring for a baby only willing to take care of the infant 50% of the time? What about any successful person asking, "Can I only put 50% of my effort toward my desired success?" Of course you wouldn't expect any of these people to give only 50% and expect to succeed.
Most people know it takes 100% participation in anything to win but still only play the game of life 40% to 60% of their true potential. How much are you in the game? If you were to look at any area of your life, that you would like improvement, you'll find you probably are far from giving it 100%. That's what the problem is.
When people tell me they want more money, love, health, etc., I explain the only reason they aren't getting it is because they aren't putting forth a full effort to make it happen.
I realize there are apparent limitations but they are only apparent. If you want to achieve anything in this life, there will always be obstacles or limitations. If you concentrate on the things that will prevent you from succeeding, you will fail.
Instead, do everything you can with what you currently have. This means to exhaust all the steps you can take with your current resources. When those action steps are completed, you'll notice more opportunities will be revealed to you. The new opportunities and action steps would never come about if you didn't do the initial steps.
Too many people use the apparent limitations and obstacles as a reason for not moving forward. The successful person believes success is the only option and will start working with what he or she's got and repeats this process to success.
So here's the process to success:
1. Decide on what's the next step
2. Identify any obstacle in the way to taking that step
3. Overcome, disregard, or ignore the obstacle
4. Take the next step
5. Repeat this cycle to whatever success you want to achieve
When you're sure you're going for your desired results, there is no need to plan the journey too far ahead. People don't need to burden themselves with doubts and fears resulting from concentrating on the obstacles that may prevent their progress. You only need to take one step at a time and exhaust everything you can with what you have to work with at this point.
As the famous author, Orison Swett Marden said long ago, "Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them.
Jump into your game 100%. Don't allow yourself any excuses or reasons for not playing all out to achieve what you want. Don't wait for the opportunities, create them. Don't wait for the more opportune moments or ideal settings before you jump into your life and go after your desires. This is it! Today is the day where you can decide, from this point on, I'm giving 100% to my game. And, as a result of this, you'll win!
How do you play 100% of any game? Completely confront (not confrontation) whatever needs to be done and do it. Whether you feel like it or not, do it and give it your best. You may not feel like it, but, if you do it, you'll expand your life and level of success in any area you choose.
The more things in life we face, the more we can handle. The more things we can handle, the bigger person we become. The bigger person we become the greater level of success we experience.
Weak people, or people who are mediocre, choose to give excuses to why they can't do something. Mediocre people stay stuck in life due to their non-confront approach to life and most of the time, this is due to their Mental Codes®. If these good hearted people only knew what a fine line there is between success and failure, they would surely jump in and play their game 100%.
I encourage you to experience a new level of life and success. Whatever needs or should be done-Do It Now! Regardless of whatever obstacles come before you-Keep Going!
Thank you for allowing me to share in this Five Minute Mental Break.
