Breaking Barriers To A Better Life

Breaking Barriers To A Better Life

In this article, I would like to share some ideas of what might be holding you back from a better life. We'll briefly look at the subject of "barriers" and I will reveal some simple steps on how to overcome the obstacles in your life.

How can you break the barriers that are holding you back from your ideal life? What is in your way of taking the next step toward more success?

As many of you know, I've authored numerous books and have created many seminars on breaking barriers around the subjects of Money, Time, Fear, Balanced Life, Careers, Business, Relationships, and many other areas of life. Having researched, created, and authored these works on "Barriers Breaking", many people would call me an "Expert" on the subject. I am a little more reserved than to give myself this title. I will simply call myself well versed on the subject of helping people go to the next level of their lives by identifying and breaking through the barriers of limitation.

A barrier is always something immaterial that impedes or separates a person from a desired outcome or life. The key to understanding barriers is in the word, "immaterial".

If, I am saying the barriers that are holding you back are immaterial, where do they come from?

Inside your mind is the answer. You create the barriers-they are not real.

Most people have read about individuals who overcame extreme physical barriers in order to accomplish phenomenal athletic feats. What about the double amputee who climbed Mt. Everest? This trek is practically impossible with two good legs let alone doing it on prosthesis. Oh the stories are plentiful around these wonderful individuals who wouldn't allow their apparent physical limitations dictate what they were going to accomplish.

What about the many people who create the imagined, immaterial barriers to a better life? Are you one of those unfortunates? Do you justify your self-imposed barriers with the most devastating word in the English language, "If"? Do you declare, "If I had this or that...I would be more successful?" How about, "If I had more money, I would be able to make more money". There are so many "Ifs" that create barriers for people the list would be too vast to mention. The main point is that we create these barriers by "if-ing" ourselves right-out of a better life.

Instead of dwelling on if things were different, concentrate on what you want.

Oh, you may be saying, "Michael, I don't know what I want or what to do in order to get it. What should I do in my situation? IF, I only knew what to do, then I would do it". Well, my suggestion is to do something. When we are talking about going to the next level toward a better life, something is always better than nothing. If you do nothing, you get more of "nothing". If you do something, you will always get something.

By doing something, you may get more experience in life toward your ultimate goal. You may be able to open another option or opportunity toward your success. You may actually discover an otherwise unknown solution to a barrier in your way to a better life. If you do something, you will always get something.

The problem with most people is they sit around complaining about the barriers and not making any attempt to overcome them.

These good hearted but poor minded individuals expect something to occur beyond their personal contribution to make it all happen for them. It doesn't work that way.

If you want anything in life, you have to go get it. When you learned any lesson in school, you had to study the subject. You couldn't ask someone else to study for you so you could learn the subject. No, you had to get into it. Even though many of our lessons are uncomfortable and foreign to us at first, with some practice, we are able to overcome the barriers and learn the subject well. As a matter of fact, some of us learn the lessons so well, we go onto become teachers to others. This is the case with your current barriers.

Let's get one thing straight, "The barriers in your life that are in the way to your success are only in your head-they are immaterial and only real to the extent you allow yourself to believe them to be real".

As soon as you are willing to do whatever it takes to become successful, you will experience success at a pace faster than you ever imagined was possible. As soon as you stop erecting barriers to your ideal life, and go into action with the attitude that you are willing to do whatever it takes-you will succeed.

If you ask anyone who has succeeded to the level you would like to achieve, they will tell you five basic practices that worked for them:

  1. Decide what you want. If you don't know, start going toward something and soon you will discover exactly what you want.
  2. Make a plan-of-action and write it out. Only when we write something on paper can we identify any potential flaws and truly realize the necessary steps into fulfillment of our dreams.
  3. Go into action regardless of any apparent barrier(s). Regardless the level of your desired success, you will always have obstacles to surpass. The successful person just keeps going without stopping for any of the apparent barriers.
  4. Watch your thinking because the only thing that can defeat anyone in life is his or her own thoughts. Keep your thoughts in-line with who you want to be and what you want to accomplish. From this moment on, become the successful person you desire and all else will follow.
  5. Constantly plan for the next step to your next desired level of success. When you stop reaching for the higher levels of success, you stop succeeding.
In closing this artic;e, please allow me to remind you of the most important point I'm trying to impart onto you, "The person who identifies his or her barriers and proceeds on toward their dreams anyways, will succeed."

Success in anything is simply expanding to a person bigger than you are today.

You have reached your current maximum; you have to grow to the next level if you want more. There are no limits besides the barriers you create on your own.

Until we talk again in the near future, I am

In loving service,
